Scanning paper documents has never been easier with the growing use of multi-function copiers that can be attached directly to the IT network. Scanned documents can be sent directly to Livelink ECM and Livelink ECM - eDOCS, or mailed to multiple recipients. Yet these devices must include embedded software that can monitor and manage the document image at the point of capture. This allows the document to be classified so the appropriate security controls can be placed on it. The document can then be tracked through the system to ensure full compliance criteria are met.
At LiveLinkUp, a demonstration will highlight the ability to control data directly from the input device, be that a scanner or multi- functional device. Control of data from the input device is imperative to ensure mandatory information is present and correct from the outset. Paper-based information may be subject to stringent compliance criteria but controlling it is usually initiated only once it has entered an electronic workflow. However, to achieve compliance, an Audit Trail is required from the point of entry of paper-based information into an electronic workflow.
